Hi everyone!
I would really love to pop down to the Sycamore but I live in New Zealand  Undecided- still found this forum tho". I hope you're keeping Colwinston beautiful! Lived there as a child 35 years ago. Last visit was in September 1999.

Thanks for that Andy, At least past residents are still welcome in the forum, and that's the good thing. Hope to meet old neighbors here soon.

I agree with Mrs F. People are more likely to speak and give their best and frank opinion using code names.  We have to admit that it's not easy to conclude to something or to comment to something or to disagree to something if we personally know the person for we dont want to offend them.

Ditto - I'm no expert either. But you got what I meant.

Hi

My other half found it by typing Colwinston into Google. I don't know who publishes the Colwinston news, but I generally find that asking in the Sycamore Inn usally ansers any questions I have!

And thanks for the welcome.

It's a good idea, I assume you mean that, for example, guests would see a very basic "profile" page, whereas members would see a more detailed page with name and optionally email address. I know that some other forums operate a policy whereby only members can see member profile pages at all.

I'll have a look around in the settings to see what can be done; but meanwhile, we'll just have to use the split public/private subforums. I can't say I noticed that kind of setting (I'm by no means an expert at this, in case you didn't guess!).

Heh - it wouldn't just be "helpful", it is kinda "critical"  Grin

I am grateful to Mrs F who has done a sterling job recruiting a number of people to register, but it will only really succeed if it reaches "critical mass" - in other words, if there are enough interesting posts to make people come back and post more...  ... and the only real way to do that is to publish the url suddenly to everyone: which requires the "Colwinston News". The trouble is, I'm not actually sure who publishes it! If anyone knows, please mail me, or post here!!!

By the way, did you find the site by accident, or did someone recruit you? (Oh, and welcome Wink )
